I am an Assistant Professor at the ECE department in the University of Florida (joined in Fall 2022). My interests are in low-power, efficient, and secure circuits and systems design for smart applications.

Biography

Baibhab received the Ph.D. degree in 2022 from the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, Purdue University, where he worked with Dr. Shreyas Sen on energy-efficient sensing and communication techniques. His industry experience includes two years as a digital design engineer/senior digital design engineer at Intel and one year as a R&D Engineer at Tejas Networks, India. He is the recipient of the University Gold Medal during B.Tech., the Institute Silver Medal during M.Tech., the Frederick N. Andrews Fellowship at Purdue University during 2017-19, the Bilsland Dissertation Fellowship at Purdue University during 2021-22, the best 3-Minute-Thesis (3MT) presentation award (audience choice) in IMS/RFIC 2020, and multiple Best Paper Awards including CICC 2019, CICC 2021, HOST 2018 and HOST 2019. He was one of the Excellent SRP Presenters in ISSCC 2019. His research interests include low-power analog, RF and mixed-signal circuit design for secure and intelligent IoT applications.

Baibhab is a member of the IEEE, and has served as a primary reviewer for IEEE/ACM journals including JSSC, TCAS-I, TBIOCAS, TVLSI, IOT-J, TDSC, SSCL, TCAS-II, MWCL, IEEE ACCESS, TMC and JETC, and IEEE conferences including ISCAS, VLSID and EMBC. He Was a Student Advisor for the SRP session in IEEE ISSCC 2020, and a TPC Member in VLSID 2021. He is currently serving as an associate editor in the RFID section and a guest editor in the Antennas Array section for the Frontiers in Antennas and Propagation.

Ph.D Track STUDENTS:

  • Ovishake Sen (Jan’23 – Present)

Ovishake Sen joined the WISE lab in the spring of 2023, to pursue his Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. He received his bachelor’s degree in computer science and engineering from the Khulna University of Engineering and Technology in Bangladesh in 2022. After completing his degree, he worked as a lecturer at Southeast University in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Ovishake is interested in several areas of research including machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, speech processing, and data science. During his free time, he loves playing cricket and soccer, traveling, photography, watching movies and listening to music.

 

  • Anyu Jiang (May’23 – Present)

Anyu Jiang joined the WISE lab in the Fall of 2023, to pursue his Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. He received his bachelor’s degree in Information Engineering from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China(UESTC) in 2022. His research interests included Internet of Body (IoB), Analog/Digital circuit design and energy efficient circuits and systems. During his free time, he loves playing soccer, working out, cooking and reading.
 

 

  • Asif Iftekhar Omi (Aug’23 – Present)

Asif Iftekhar Omi embarked on his Ph.D. journey in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Florida in 2023 and eventually joined the WISE lab as a Graduate Research Assistant. He achieved his B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, Bangladesh, in 2014, followed by an M.S. from Washington State University Vancouver, USA, in 2022. His career initially started as a Lecturer at Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (2014-2015), then transitioned to industry roles as a System Engineer at Grameenphone Ltd. and later as a Sub-Divisional Engineer at Dhaka Power Distribution Company Ltd. (2015-2020), before returning to academia as a Teaching Assistant (2021-2022). Currently, he is focused on developing energy-efficient Analog/RF/Bio-Medical integrated circuits and systems. Besides his academic pursuits, he enjoys traveling, exploring new cuisines, and playing badminton, tennis, etc.
